Let’s enjoy an interesting story!
This is something very dreamy & romantic in the place of a person who imagines himself/herself in greeting the bright, fresh sun with a purr of espresso machine, the mind-blowing aroma of beans circling through the air of the warm house. My cousin Yara has recently moved into her first flat. So she has a vision of the dreamy environment in her house as an Espresso Enthusiast. She is not addicted to any coffee, very particularly in love with barista-level espresso. She wants to start her day every morning as if living in the shining spring of Paris. To bring the aesthetic dream into reality, she eyed a machine on Instagram. The price tag? It’s Planetary!! It's more than the master bed in her house. But dreams don’t listen to compromise, right? She was about to click on the ‘Buy Now' button, at the very moment I stopped her and suggested something odd! I said, ‘Why don’t you try renting it first?’ She replied, rolling her eyes, ‘Doesn’t it have different commitment issues? Is it worth it just for a machine?’ I giggled and replied, ‘No, it’s just dating before going for a long-term decision like marriage!’ Her wallet was also whispering the same. So finally she rented it for a month.
Week 1: In the honeymoon phase, everything seems exciting! She made coffee for everyone in the house, including the delivery bloke. She even sent proud pictures of silky, foamy cappuccinos and mochas. Week 2: Cracking down started slowly. She complained about the small steam wand. Then came grinder jam. Week 3: She used it twice, after that it was like a glossy showpiece or a sheeny trophy in a corner of the kitchen. And she started ordering coffee from outside again. Week 4:_ _A twist came with a review form. The renting company asked for an honest review and gave a gift as a first customer for using another coffee machine free of rental cost for a month! Yara found the second machine very good. It was simple without any complicated functions.
Though it was good, she didn’t buy that one as well. She didn’t buy a coffee machine. Whenever she likes to experiment with her passion, she rents and utilises it and also makes blogs about what she likes and dislikes so that others can avoid expensive mistakes. She started earning from it also. So renting makes her life smarter, more flexible — in short, gives her a new life.
What is the Big Lesson from the Story? Most of the time, we treat buying as the closing line of getting ownership or success. Nevertheless, in this world full of alternatives and creating buzz around every single product, renting is the kick of choosing the right thing — exploring the available options without taking any pressure.
